Worked as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS since 1987, mostly in the area of mental health. Working as a business manager for a regional forensic mental health secure unit gave her an interest in politics and policy-making leading to the completion of a degree in public administration. She was inspired by the concept of sharing improved practice and accelerating the adoption of innovations. She as led a core element of Learning Alliance work since 2000, to create a culture throughout the region where sharing practice becomes the norm. Her present role is working with NHS executive teams and modernisation leaders to facilitate sustainable improvement through development of organisation-wide spread and adoption strategies.
